# What asset cards are for

Each asset card is a separate canvas where you develop an asset, reuse it, and keep its references in one place.

Each asset card is a **separate canvas**, a space of its own for working on one asset, such as a character, a scene, or a prop.

In an asset card, you can:

- **Develop each asset on its own**: Try different versions and changes of one character or scene without affecting other asset cards.
- **Reuse assets and keep them consistent**: Use a finished asset card again when you generate videos later. This helps keep characters, scenes, and props consistent across clips and shots, and reduces differences between results.
- **Keep references in one place**: Link an asset card to a clip to use its whole set of references at once, instead of dragging them into nodes one by one as references for your video.
- **Make collaboration and management easier**: Once assets are managed in one place, team members can view different assets and work on them together more conveniently, and quickly find what needs to change.
- **Get to an Asset Canvas quickly**: On the Assets overview, choose an asset to go straight to its Asset Canvas. You can also find and choose other assets in the asset lists at the top left of the Asset Canvas and in the left sidebar, and jump straight to their Asset Canvases.
